Speaker: Prof. Jeroen Krijgsveld

Position & Affiliation: Professor of Proteomics, Heidelberg University, and Head of the Division “Proteomics of Stem Cells and Cancer,” German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ)

Jeroen Krijgsveld’s research focuses on understanding how cellular proteomes are regulated in disease and perturbation, with a particular emphasis on cancer biology. His group develops advanced mass spectrometry–based proteomics methodologies to dissect mechanisms of cell signaling, proteostasis, and proteome regulation. The lab has made important contributions to areas such as chromatin and secretome proteomics, protein synthesis and degradation, and highly sensitive workflows for low-input and single-cell proteomics. In parallel, his team has pioneered automation and miniaturization strategies to improve robustness and sensitivity in proteomics applications.
Prof. Krijgsveld previously held positions at EMBL Heidelberg and Utrecht University and has authored numerous influential studies in proteomics technology development and systems-level analysis of cellular regulation.
